Speed run of The Legend of Zelda, 2nd Quest, done on February 1 2006. Available in 4 versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60fps high/insane quality. Author's comments: After I finished my 22% game in Prime, I was trying to decide what game to run next. I had a couple ideas, but this wasn't one of them. I decided to do this game because no one wanted to run the second quest and Radix asked me. How could I possibly turn him down? Well, here it is, a second quest run of Zelda 1 with no...

Speed run of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on Fighter mode in 9 segments completed on October 31 2005. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60 fps high quality. Note: the game's timer is ignored since it isn't displayed at the end (pausing to show it is considered unreliable) so real-time is used instead. Author's comments: I started this run a few days after I got the 0:40:48 SS time. I knew the best way to go was to force Strength Rings to defeat later bosses a lot...

Speed run of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation using glitches in 48 segments across 43 files, completed on October 20 2006. Available in three versions: low/normal quality DivX, and high quality H.264 AVI. Author's comments: This is actually my second run of this game. The first one wasn't worth to submit, it has a lot of mistakes, some major problems like can't sprint left and the video quality is just isn't so good. I didn't have to search for all tricks since I have watched MMAN's runs to get...

Individual level speed runs of Mission: Impossible on "Mission: Impossible" difficulty (hard mode) done on April 24/25 2004. Low% speed run of Metroid Zero Mission on Hard mode in 10 segments, completed on 4 December 2005. Available in five versions: normal/low quality DivX, and normal/high/low quality H.264 MPEG-4. Author's comments: Introduction: Ekarderif from M2K2 recently started recording a technical demo of a 9% Hard run of this game. Watching the first few segments, I was initially rather put out, mostly because I felt I could never do any of the tricks he could and that people wouldn't appreciate cart runs...

Speed run of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess with save warping in 43 segments, completed on April 5 2007. Available in five versions: low/normal quality DivX, and normal/high/low quality H.264 MPEG-4. Author's comments: This is my first speed run and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Obviously, this run wouldn't be possible without everyone who has contributed even the smallest of short cuts. Thanks to pretty much everyone in the gigantic Twilight Princess topic, there are too...

Speed run of Body Harvest in 7 segments completed on July 30 2004. Author's comments: I just want to get this out of the way for the casual SDA viewer who may have stumbled onto this page - these videos probably won't be any good for anyone but a Body Harvest fan. The game never gained wide popularity but it did achieve quite a large underground following. The game itself, however, I find quite appealing, challenging, and fun, and it lends itself to a speed run. But a random viewing by someone...

Speed run of Fire Emblem for GBA in 26 segments completed on May 31 2005. Uses the "Mine Trick" at various points, an abuse of a bug in game's auto save system. Author's comments: I had completed a run on this game earlier, but I pitched chapter 29 thinking I had it. This resulted in the need for me to redo the run. Well, it turns out that was a good thing, since my old time was 4:06.08, which was a lot slower. I did a lot of unnecessary things that I cut out of this run. I skipped...

Speed run using the 105% code, which makes the game harder by removing all continue barrels and nearly all DK barrels, completed on June 8 2004. Author's comments: Normally the maximum percentage available in DKC3 is 103%. However, there is an "expert code" that takes away all DK barrels and save/midway/continue barrels - whatever you want to call them. The game becomes much more difficult! To perform this, select a new file and press LRRLRRLRLR. A prompt will come up - type in...

Speed run of Diablo in 9 segments completed on June 24 2005. Available in 320x240 and 640x480 versions. Author's comments: "Normal" quality in this case means if your computer is very bad or you just want to download less you should get those; otherwise, I recommend "high" quality (which is what I originally captured as). They are much more pretty. And if you're never played Diablo 1 before I recommend segments seven and nine (Lazarus and Diablo's lairs, respectively). This...

Speed run of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction on normal skill in 10 segments, completed on June 11 2005. Author's comments: I just have this say to any potential viewers: I highly recommend viewing this at 200%. It makes things much clearer. Diablo is one of those games where if someone mentions the idea of speed running everyone will point and laugh. Initial estimates hovered around the SDA seven hour limit. Speed run of Mafia for PC in 93 segments completed on April 19 2005. Segments are appended together into each of 20 missions. Available in low, normal and high quality. Author's comments: The main reason why this run is so long is that you need to drive the most time. There's not really a way to speed that up except taking the fastest route. Speed run of Super Mario Sunshine in 9 segments completed on July 22 2004. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60fps high quality. Author's comments: In retrospect, I would say that this was a rather poor choice of a game for speed play. Author's comments: So, here we are with ANOTHER Devil May Cry 3 speed run from me. There's not much of a story behind this run, really. Speed run of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones in 25 segments completed on July 2 2005. Available in 3 versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60fps high quality. Author's comments: This game is shorter than Rekka no Ken (also known as Fire Emblem in U.S.), but a lot harder to speed through. Speed run of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II done in 21 segments (one per level) and appended into one avi recording, done on September 23 2004. Author's comments: Each level on this run was recorded separately because Fraps would just stop recording after each level. Yes, the laborious Quest 64 has been taken down in under three hours. I'll save you the trouble and tell you the secret right here: earth and water, baby. Speed run of Shadow Man in 20 segments completed on August 3 2005. Author's comments: Although released on multiple platforms, Shadow Man is by far the darkest title on the N64 that I can recall. I mean, the first item you use is your dead little brother's teddy bear to warp to different areas. I also can't pass over the fact that our protagonist is black. And he's not Token! This game is similar to, say, Mario 64. There's lots of jumping, climbing, swimming, lava, etc.; except, instead of 120...

Some comments (aka. "novel" :P) from the author The movie is 301,102 frames (83:38 minutes) long, however the last minute was used to trigger a little easteregg. The last hit on Bowser takes place after 297,736 frames (82:42 minutes), so this is the actual time of completion. As the movie is so long, and even watching it in turbo mode still takes some time, I created a few savegames throughout the movie, which you can load if you watch the movie with "Open Read-Only"...

Speed run of Mega Man Legends in 15 segments completed on June 12 2005. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60 fps high quality. Author's comments: This is my first speed run and I will definitely improve this run when something new develops or in a couple of weeks. I decided to divide the game in into 15 segments to make it a little easier. Possibly in the future it will be less segments or maybe even Single Segment. Each of the 15 segments contain some mistakes while...

Speed run of Half-Life 2 on normal difficultly in 71 segments. Demos were captured to AVI by David Rickard, appened into one file and compressed to one 320x240 and 640x480 version. Author's comments: If any Valve employees are reading this I implore you to fix the glitches associated with recording demos in HL2...including, but not limited to: 1. The "scarecrow" effect on allies and enemies alike. 2. Alyx's ice skating glitch. 3. In some areas the crowbar becomes unselectable when...

Speed run of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 14 segments, completed on February 10 2005. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60 fps high quality. Author's comments: First off, thanks go to Nate, for capturing the run, and to Jnco904's Car Locations FAQ from gamefaqs. Notes/Improvements on the run: Part 1 - You get 5 shotgun rounds every time you jack a police car - this is why I stop for seemingly no reason to do this twice, cuz having the shotgun makes a couple of the...

Author's comments: Hey everyone. This run went through a lot of revisions, including a complete restart when I ended up with a run that didn't have enough virus cores to open the next area. Author's comments: Note to those at the Minibosses message board: I told you it wasn't 31:xx. ;) Anyway, this run is probably the finest of my (Hopefully young) speedrunning career to this point. At 30:34 or so, it beats the only other listed time for the game at Twin Galaxies by more than four minutes. If you've never played Rygar, the object is to collect five items...

Speed run of the Half-Life expansion Opposing Force on hard mode in 93 segments, completed on February 12 2005. Available as Divx 640x480 or 320x240 and original recordings as .dem files, which require version 6.1.0.6 of Opposing Force to play. Time includes a half second penalty for some demo recordings beyond the first, because the engine skips a little bit on each load, and to discourage large amounts of demos. Because of the version used, demo recordings could not be continud at level loads...

Speed run of Super Mario Bros. done on October 9 2004. Available in normal and high quality. Author's comments: This is the cleanest, best looking SMB run I've done, although some levels can be finished slightly faster with better tactics so I estimate that I could do better by five to seven tenths overall. Easily the best part is in 8-3 with the Hammer Bros (I was very surprised I didn't die). Enjoy :)

Speed run of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga in 55 segments completed on ???? ?? 2005. Author's comments: This run was inspired by Marsh's Super Mario RPG run he did a while back. Rather than go for just pure speed, I decided to also make this a no-damage run. That's right - I go from start to finish without ever taking a hit. I was also planning on perfect mini-games, but some were too much of a pain in the ass to be worth the frustration. I did, however, manage to also make this a...

Speed run of BloodRayne for PC done in 6 segments, completed on July 20 2005. Available in normal and high quality. Author's comments: I've beaten this game countless times, and I decided to do this one as my first speed run. The game is fun and pretty simple.. Run, shoot, and hit a bunch of switches. Single-segment speed run of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening done on September 1 2005. Available in normal and low quality. Author's comments: I captured this myself, which would be why the quality's not what you might be used to, and why there's no HQ. But this is the black & white version, so it doesn't really matter anyways. And give even more thanks to Radix than you would normally - the audio was out of sync when I captured it, he resynched it. Speed Run of Playstation 2's "God of War" By: Prism Completed October 1, 2005 17 segments You'll see me do two things many, many times throughout the run: roll-cancel and saw. Roll-canceling is when you roll, then do an action (like hit square), but then roll again before it gets started. Doing this lets Kratos travel across the ground much faster than walking. A varation of this is roll->R2 (dash)->(repeat); this has the added benefit of letting you steer Kratos during the dash...

Time trials on all 16 courses of Mario Kart 64, with both fast laps and full course runs. On many courses there is a possible shortcut to skip a large portion of the track; these are listed seperately. Videos noted with PAL were recorded on the PAL version of the game (Europe and other places). Due to programmer laziness, the PAL version displays all the frames of the NTSC version, making the game run about 5/6th the speed, but the time is still real time. This results in an equivalent vid...
